Iconic Staircase

Design

Vertical circulation is a very important part of our designs, and we are proud of this unique example in a penthouse apartment in the West Village of Manhattan.

While the stair saved valuable space in the corner unit, it was cramped, poorly placed, and didn't fit in with the overall apartment.

As we begun planning our renovation, we recognized an opportunity for the staircase to pull both floors of the apartment together aesthetically and serve as a focal point for the space.

West Village Penthouse

Walnut treads, custom bent steel stringers, and artfully curved plaster combine to create a striking staircase, beautiful when viewed from every angle.
